I have a very beautiful, big and beautiful set of wind chimes. I got them while on vacation in Gatlinburg, TN several years ago. The sounds these chimes make are so soothing and relaxing, day or night. One of our neighbors has even told me how much she enjoys hearing them too.
But maybe, just maybe, a person that loves wind chimes can take it a little too far?
The caption says "I'm not one to complain George, but your wind chimes are driving me and Trisha up the wall."

Wind Chimes can help predict the weather!
Did you know that wind chimes can help predict the weather? Yup, they sure can. They can detect even the slightest change in wind speeds which could mean an approaching storm. But then there are certain wind chimes that can scream "tornado" or "hurricane"! Take a look at these ones.
Most people have wind chimes because they are beautiful and decorative or they love relaxing to their many different sounds. But who would have thunk they could be used as a storm alert too!

So get out that key collection and see what kind of beautiful creation you can come up with. Perhaps you could dip each key in a different color to make this idea a very colorful one!

DIY Wind Chime of the Week
You can go shopping and buy a beautiful wind chime that makes the most wonderful sounds, or you could also take advantage of things around your home to create whimsical and colorful decorations that you can hang in your garden or around your patio. You would really be surprised with what you might find around your home to make that perfect whimsical wind chime.
We will be featuring a photo of a DIY idea each week. Here is our very first DIY wind chime photo.
How about one for that favorite mechanic because even a manly home needs some special touches.

Not everyone likes the traditional looking wind chimes
I tend to like the traditional or classic looking wind chimes, but I have come across some that are certainly not what one might expect to see hanging in a backyard or garden.
I have seen wind chimes made of forks and that sort of thing, but who would have thunk that such crazy chimes could be the product of a person's imagination. Now here's some imagination for you. Anyone for some "redneck wind chimes"?
Certainly a good way to recycle those beer cans!
